Quite A few times I have and was disappointed to find the social media might or might not be for the company whose website I had been on.

 

Identity

 

A companies identity is what people searching or being shown on social media see of your company. This is where they will get their first impression. Most companies realize this is probably the first most important factor in finding new customers.

Consistency

 

Don't believe for a second people see a product and buy. It isn't the way the minds of internet buyers work. People are searching for information so they can make an informed buying decisions. This is where consistency comes in. People want to know they are seeing the social media for which they did their original search.

Social media has two distinct values for businesses. It is a simple way for people to see what you have to offer. A second value is letting prospective customers see how your existing customers feel about your product and your service.

Most website builders recommend having links to your company social media on websites. Some website building companies believe it helps with search engine optimization. If this is the case it has value for that. It does have value because it shows potential customers you care enough about your business to have a social media presence.
