If you are intending on building a brand you should understand what is considered modern marketing.  Finding buyers doesn't happen unless you have the marketing tools available. In reality, it is a lot like show and tell in Kindergarten. It works for anyone who has a product or service.

This is an excerpt from an email to a prospective client.  

 Right now, I don't see enough of the right marketing materials.

As of yet I have not seen a testimonial

 Do you have a single brand advocate?

Not a single picture is properly framed.

I haven't seen any videos.

I have not been able to find a single piece of content.


Modern Marketing requires a way to reach the decision makers and have them coming to you. This is done with content, pictures, testimonials, and videos. Brand advocates without charge will actually do some of the advertising. This is because satisfied customers share their good fortune.

Doing this online requires searching for the keywords those who are in the target marketare searching. Then putting content, pictures, and hopefully quality videos showing these people what you are going to do for them that others in the industry are not. It also requires showing them what satisfied customers are saying about your product.

Right now you have a sales staff, each person on that staff needs to be retrained. They should not be considered sales people. Each has to become a buyer advocate. Every single one of them has to learn how to build a working friendship with the people who reach them.

Pemo and I actually changed our approach before everyone else. My last "offline" business partner bought me out in 1986. I had already been in business and finding buyers since the early seventies.  This was always done through brand marketing and advertising specials.

The overall cost about 20 percent of the yearly gross revenue. Nineteen percent goes for marketing and advertising, one percent for bonuses. This is adjusted quarterly.

To see true success long term these are the modern marketing changes your company is going to have to make. First you must stand out in your field. I do not have a single sales person on staff. All calls are inbound by people who already know what we do and the value they will receive. The word commission is not in our business vocabulary. We do pay bonuses to the marketing staff if a quarter brings in more business.
