Networking and FORM

No matter what your brand is, as you are building your company, networking is important. When you are networking, nothing is more important than filing out your FORM. Never talk business until your form at least partially filled out and never on a first call. Networking implies friendship. To be friends you need to know certain information about people.

Why fill out FORM?

Form is information about the person you have reached. This information can guide you in presenting how you are going to help them. It also makes people feel you really care.

What is it?

F is for family

O is for occupation

R is for recreation

M is for money situation

Can you fill out your form without sharing about yourself?

Although it is possible, it is not advisable. Many times your opening up will actually open the person you are talking to up. Since the information you will gain is worth its weight in gold you want as much as you can gather.  

Consider this

How do you feel when someone you have talked to before asks about a member of your family by name? Are you going to be more willing to open up if they mention your favorite sport or hobby? If they ask a particular question about a monetary goal you have, how do you react? How many people you talk to ask you how your day at work went? Many married couples don’t even do this.

Get over a lead mentality

Everyone you talk to is a real human being with wants and needs just as you are. Treat them as you want to be treated. Consider how you like to others talking to you, and then treat them with the same respect. Do you like it when others try pushing you into buying something period much less in a first phone call? How often do they succeed in doing so? Most people just say goodbye to you and your push if they are that polite.

What is the value of networking?

There is no business where there is no value in networking. There are companies that work hand in hand together to enhance the value of both. Networking can help you locate these companies. When you find them, it generally cuts the workload of both companies.

Those who are MLM marketers can also gain by working with others.

If your company covers health products for the home, teaming up with a company that provides healthy food, can be a good combination. There are many companies, which can gain by teaming with preppers. Mold inspectors can gain by teaming up with small labs that do the testing.  All can gain by becoming part of,  and advertising for directories where people search for their products or services.

Tips for networking

You will find that if the first question that comes out of your mouth is “how can I help you?” it makes people think. They are likely to tell you exactly what their wants and needs are.  This is the first question everyone who calls your company should hear. It should be the second set of words out of the person who answers the phone.  First, of course they hear “the company name” then “how can I help you?”

It takes time

In marketing, your goal should be to have people calling and emailing you to find out more about you as a company. At this point, they will be the ones asking how you can help them. For most companies this is now internet based. If you don’t use Form with your networking, the brand you are building may never reach this point.
