Building a brand; word of mouth

How many business owners realize how powerful word of mouth can be? When you are building a brand this is surely something you need to be considering. In conjunction with your marketing plan, this can increase the number of people who buy from you.

How do you start?

Provide exceptional value. In everything you do, make sure, you are exceeding the needs of your customers. Always go the extra mile. A happy customer is one who is more than willing to share their buying experience.

Building relationships

Some great people are helping others daily. They are worth mentioning. Don Sabelhaus has an eBook that helps others learn how to use IBOtoolbox to their best advantage. Jason Yost helps those with environmental problems in the Northern U.S. David Snell helps those in the South U.S. with Mold remediation. Ricky Henderson is helping those who live in an entire county (poorest one in South Carolina).

Feeling

Each of the people above make people feel. Their presences on the internet are about average. There is not a single one though that when you talk to them don’t touch most of the people they talk to in some way.

Help others

How many times have you heard “what can I do to make your life better?” Try saying this to others once and a while. It is life changing. Be careful how you relate to others. You don’t want people replying “get out of my life.”

Make those you deal with feel

This can’t be stressed enough. People buy based on what your business makes them feel. Until a person feels, they can’t make a logical choice to do business with you. They also won’t share your business by word of mouth with others.

Why people buy

Everyone I have talked to said his or her purchases are based on logic. Logical buying has nothing to do with price. I have met people who will pay twice as much for a product that makes them feel. People share that which makes them feel good.

Word of mouth recommendations

People do this every day. Most of the people who make word of mouth recommendations don’t get paid for sharing. How many people have told you about a new movie they have seen?

So why do they do it?

We are right back to feeling. If they didn’t feel something they wouldn’t share. In English, this means if you want people sharing your brand/business you have to make them feel.
