IBOtoolbox special edition

Everyone on IBOtoolbox is building a brand. Enjoy a special edition aimed at members. This is to explain a few tips on using the system. 

As a member of IBOtoolbox do you understand who your audience really is?
Most people would tend to believe it is the other marketers who use the platform. Considering only 4 percent of the readers come from the platform this is a major misconception. 

So who is your audience? 

The people you are trying to reach are those with whom your work is shared by other IBOtoolbox members as well as those who find your work by keywords. These people are finding you based on your titles, comments by readers (Google+), and your keywords. They have an interest in your title or your keywords. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t click through to your content. 

Titles matter

The title you choose for your content matters. Make sure the title has relevance to what a reader finds once they start reading. Consider how you feel when you open an article to find the title misleading. 

Tags matter

Again, make sure the tags match the main points of the content. People searching expect to find that the tags have relevance. If a search engine doesn’t find your keywords in your content they will search on until they find an article which does. 

Content matters

What is someone who finds your title looking for? What information would you want if you searched those keywords? Are you giving them information they can’t find elsewhere? 

Friendships matter

We each have two ears and one mouth. True friendship requires that we use the ears more than the mouth. Not every conversation has to be about you. 

Never discount word of mouth

Word of mouth advertising has been used since the beginning of time. It is by far the most effective method of advertising. It brings in to play; the know, like, trust factor based on firsthand knowledge of someone they already trust.

Associates 

The friends (associates) you meet on IBOtoolbox are the ones who will be sharing your content and posts. The majority will not be customers. You want to create friendships based on common interest. Each is a business owner so there is always common ground. 

No one knows everything

How can an IBOtoolbox friendship help your business? Do you know everything there is to know about working on the internet? I have not yet met a single person who does. Just like brick and mortar stores, people are more specialized. A member with the knowledge often freely shares something you might not know. 

Be open minded

I am not talking about your having to join every business promoted to you. What this means is the internet is ever changing. A friend might come across something that is working for them. In this case, it might be in your best interest to listen. 

SEO 

No one is an SEO expert. It changes so fast that no one has been totally able to keep up. In the almost three years I have been in business the rules have changed about as often as I changed my shirt. 

With that said, some things don’t change

Content is king. This is the same with video. No search engine is ever going to put content on a page one that has no relevance to the title and tags. It doesn’t matter how good your content is, if people don’t find relevance they aren’t going to read all of it. 

Keyword research

I have met many people who don’t believe it is important to do keyword research. If you want your audience to find you this is something, you should at least consider. It isn’t required for every article. However should be done to set your base keywords. 

A simple way to search

Type the title you wish to use into any search engine. This will immediately tell you how much competition you are facing for your keywords. If it is in the millions this shows you without a doubt more keyword research is necessary.  

When does this not apply

An article like this, which is aimed at IBOtoolbox users, does not have to be optimized. Social sharing and word of mouth will bring in the readers who can gain the most from it.

Well there is an eBook with this title that I recommend new users buy. You can take months to learn the hard way or a few hours of reading, a few more of implementing and be ready to use IBO to its fullest potential.
