Simple truths about branding

The truth is when you are building a brand you don’t want be an average brand. Average brands are a dime a dozen now, due to this people no longer pay attention to average. Your goal is to stand out. 

Personalization

The big brands don’t personalize. If you are a small company, this is what we advise. People are more likely to buy from people they have come to know, like, and trust. When you are small a small company, this is simple. Talk to people; don't have a sales agenda on a first call. Take time to build a friendship where both parties can truly share who they are. 

What can you do to stand out?

No one has a face like yours. There are times when more than one person has the same name. This means the best approach to stand out is using your face. It doesn’t matter what you look like. What you want to consider what you want others to feel about you. If you run a car wash, a tee shirt with your logo on it is most likely going to work. If you are a professional, you want to look the part.  

Recognition

I have a friend who has been in internet marketing for years. Everyone knows him because of his face. This remains so even though he changes his picture often. He has learned the value of face branding. Have you learned this yet? 

Logo use

We have used a logo for almost two years now. People were able to relate because our social media was face branded first. There have been clients for whom we have used their face and their logo in place in the same picture. This makes sense for the first $200,000 in earnings from your company. 

Don’t fail to deliver

The two biggest areas of failure are “something different” and human to human interaction. If you think you’re too big, think again. Even large corporations hire people to keep the human touch part of what they do. Do you Feel your company is too small? It won’t get much bigger without interaction. Make sure your employees know what your ethics are. Your ethics should be part of every conversation. 

Truth

People are inundated with half-truths and outright lies.  Whoever said, "honestly is the best policy" is correct. If you want people to trust you, give them a reason.  Is there any simpler way than sharing the truth? 

People first

What are those who want your product looking for? They are looking for a solution to a problem. Give them what they want. Do it better than your competition and keep innovating. 

Average

This is one thing you don’t want to be. If you are average, you will see exactly what average brands see. The second sentence of this article explains how average brands are treated; I am going to ask you what makes you stand out? 

You are not a brand

You are a person who owns and runs a company. How you present yourself and your company will often decide how others feel about doing business with you.
