Three tips to help build a brand

Why would a person who is building a brand want tips? The best way to learn is from someone who already knows. What we find is a video is worth way more than the words. Today you will find a link to an article we believe has value to every internet marketer.  

What will help you?

Today you will see three tips, which will improve your internet marketing life. What are the three most important areas an internet marketer needs to understand? These need to be looked at as part of branding. 

1. Search engine optimization (SEO)

2. Social media optimization (SMO)

3. Using video effectively

A question

When you want to learn about SEO who comes to mind? If it is not, it should be Matt Cutts. Why you ask? His team makes decisions that affect, if and where the Google search engine visitors will find you. Decisions his team makes almost always trickle down and affect all the other search engines.

What is the latest word?

This is what has changed as of May 27, 2013. “In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by creating high-quality sites that users will want to use and share.” Google Webmaster Help documentation

How does this help an article writer?

What the above is saying; you need to create content people will read and share. The more people share the more likely what you publish will be on a page one, others will find. One of the things we stress often is there is no such thing as a static page one.

What is social media optimization?

To us it is the art of getting people on your business pages and keeping them coming back. In essence it comes right back to creating compelling content. On social media, your goal is entertain first. The majority of social media users are not in an internet business. Many of them will buy from internet marketers while others will join a business if you make your information compelling enough.

Share your information

On social media, you can share articles you have written. For your readers this is not the main reason they belong to your media. The ones who have a real interest will read and share articles you have written. It the articles are entertaining or inspiring; share them often. If not, make sure the bulk of what you are posting to social media is entertaining to your audience.

Effective video

The most important thing we can say is; be real. People will watch even “boring” videos if they know you are being real. Be sure to share something of value with them. Keep the ones you are using to invite people to a website or blog short. Very few people will remain on a video longer than a minute and a half. If you can say what you want in less than a minute, you should.

Teaching videos

In this area, we have two tips. First, if you are planning to remain stationary take a real good look at what a visitor is going to see behind you. This is your stage. What you place there is staging. Never leave this a blank wall. Very few people will remain on a video with a mono colored background.

Timing

Timing is everything. People start to lose interest right about the minute mark. This is the time to really get interesting to keep them focused and keep them on the video. Ten short videos on a subject is better than one long one. Build on each as you go.
