The freedom to build a brand

Almost every country in the world allows some freedom now when it comes to creating businesses. Businesses by default build a brand. What are you going to create? 

Ending earlier this year we had the privilege of working with a company in China. One of the things we found is they didn’t understand how branding works. This article is aimed at helping others see how this helps.

Name and face

Most businesses start with name and face branding. This works no matter how old a brand becomes. People always want to know they are dealing with a real human being.

Social media

There is no business in existence which shouldn’t start with social media. We still find many who believe links in every post are necessary. Nothing could be further from the truth. Actually social media works better with very few links to a business. This doesn’t mean you can’t use your logo as long as you have given people time to get to know you as the person behind the company.

Why social media first?

It takes talking to people to advance a brand. No matter what kind of business you own people want to know someone is available if they have problems. On social media you also learn what changes you can make to a product to fill your customer’s needs.

Every business should be aimed at filling a need

In every niche people have needs. In every case they are going to keep searching until they find someone who can fill them. Are you going to be positioned in a way to fill that need for your niche?

Why build a business?

When you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work. You will remain motivated because you are doing what you would be doing if you had no need of money. This gives you a kind of freedom no matter what.
