Building a brand; recruiting new customers

To be building a brand you have to have customers. If you are not recruiting new customers you don’t have a brand. It is time to talk about how to find them. 

Keeping existing customers is important

It costs five times as much to find a new customer than to keep an existing one. If you have no buyers this means you are going to have to expend something. Depending on where you are financially you will expend time, money, or both. 

Think about this for a minute? 

You should have learned finding a buyer costs. In many cases it can be the time cost, in most cases businesses use time and money. You must have a time and money budget set and really need not to expend more than you have budgeted. 

Use a three prong approach

If you are new to business you really need to be using a three prong approach. This doesn’t matter what kind of business you are in. You must find those first customers to get you started, have repeat buyers, and build new ones. 

How can you do this?

Don’t expect overnight success. In the majority of cases this doesn’t happen. Use emotion to draw people to you and your company.  Then make sure you are the logical choice they make when they do buy. 

What does this mean?

Emotion starts the buying process. Without reaching a prospective buyer though emotion you chances of them buying is non-existent. What is your prospective client going to gain? What they are looking for:  

Are they looking for Longer healthier lives? 

Improved Status?

Ways to simplify their lives? 

Each of these has an emotional base. 

The prospect feels they are missing something in their lives. Your job is to fill this missing need. One of the biggest mistakes some companies make is trying to sell to a need which doesn’t exist.

How to effectively use social media

How to use search engine optimization

Now why are these important?

These are the three leading ways to find new customers. Social media is also the way to keep existing customers happy and returning. You have to have both for your business to succeed. 

Emotion and logic

What this means is people no longer buy the first time they see something. Each wants to buy, especially in the current world economy, based on logic. All three of the points above must take this into consideration. 

The money is in the list

Now why is this here? If you have been reading you will understand buyers now want to buy based on logic. How can they logically choose your brand to buy from if you are not in front of them when they make the buying decision? 

Telephone use in English

Stop trying to sell. People love to buy, they dislike salespeople. All you want to do is put people into the sales funnel. How do you do this? Get them on your list. This is not recommended on the first call. Get to know people; you might actually be surprised to find there is a real human being on the other end of the phone line. 

Social media use in English

Stop trying to sell. Entertain prospective and returning customers.  Use what you can find to inspire them to change their lives. Provide information of value to your audience, and give access to your opt in box rarely. This should be on a website/splash page outside the social media. Never use social media to build someone else’s list. 

Search engine optimization in English

What you are doing with search engine optimization is providing information of value to the people in your niche. This means both articles and websites. The website should be aimed at putting people on your list. Then it will be used as the completion of the sales funnel after a prospective customer is on your list. 

How can you make money if you don’t sell?

Why do you believe you won’t, above it says the money is in the list. There are bloggers who make $50,000 or more a year without a single “ad” on their blog. All they use is an “opt in” box so people can be added to their list. 

You will often hear don’t use a list for sales

Those who do don’t understand how to use them.  For each type of business there is a correct approach. For more on this we are here if you want help.
