Building your brand; bringing it all together

This year the trend in brand design is bringing people together. No longer is it one company alone building an entire brand. Each company is going to have its own approach so building brands together blends the best of each together. What’s new? “They” say “there is nothing new under the sun. Everything that is being done has been done before.” There is some truth to this however people keep finding new and innovative ways to make life better. What you should be wondering Since more brand design companies are working together to put fantastic brands together why can’t companies do the same? If you understand that there are a few pioneers doing it now, and doing it successfully, isn't it something worth looking into? It seems budgets are smaller With this in mind combining the budgets of two or more companies makes sense. This is as long as all are going to gain equally from the efforts. If you know it will be unequal then have each put in the portion which will benefit them. Complimentary When one business compliments another working together shouldn’t be a problem. It is finding companies with the same motivation to succeed which is the problem. It is going to take building personal relationships to make this work. Personal relationships Each business owner generally has personal relationships with other people or businesses. These are always built over time and with trust increasing as time passes. Creating new relationships generally isn't hard as long as each person in the relationship truly takes time to listen to the needs of the other. It should be simple Symbiotic relationships have been working for centuries. Symbiotic relationships as you know are interdependent. It is also possible to create non symbiotic relationships with complementary businesses. An example using branding How many people know it takes expertise in 60 or more fields to create an internet brand? No one person has been able to pull it off. This is why you always hear of branding companies. It takes four basic disciplines with at least 56 sub areas of expertise to build brands like Virgin®, WalMart® or Suburu®. Each person in business is part of another businesses pie? Computer programming is based on “if, then.” Businesses are the same. Beyond the basics of life which are food, clothing, and shelter every need was created by a company. If there was no farmer there would be no need for a baker. In this case a product (wheat) along with other products like baking soda, and baking powder, are used to create a want for bread and anything else made with those ingredients. When you understand complimentary Most company owners we meet are all about “what is in it for my company?” Using this approach it isn’t hard to explain how two or three companies going together can gain the desired results with less monetary and time outlay. This for many brands can be bringing it all together. © May 10, 2013 11:35 PM CDT Dennis Thorgesen for Lisech eMarketing, All rights reserved.
