Building your brand, brand communities

It is important to know when you are building your brand you can’t create brand communities. What you can do is encourage customers to start and build them. This is possible on social media even with people who have never purchased a single product from you. How does it begin? Building personal relationships is the best way to start. This should be with people, who know, like, and trust you, or those you can build this type of relationship with. These people do not have to buy your product or use your services to be part of the community you want them to create. In reality they just have to believe in what you are doing. What is the “why?” As much as possible this should be about your products or services. If that doesn’t fit for your particular business model then the social cause you take on should reach the hearts of as many people as possible. Anybody who joins the community is going to do so; based on emotion. The emotion in this case is a sense of belonging to something much bigger than them. Does value fit and where? No one is going to be part of a community which has no value. It has to fill an emotional need or why bother. Social media is going to play a role in guiding those in your business life to start one. Where can you build personal relationships? Like-minded people have a tendency to hang out in their perspective niches. This is the best place to start. It is not the only place you will find them though so here are a few other places where those in business and those starting businesses can find them. Online business card One of the first things you want to have is an online business card. Not just any, and there are at least a few to choose from. You want the one where you can actually have like-minded people from search engines finding it. Social shares are important for websites, blogs, and any other business advertising you do. With this in mind you want your online business card somewhere others can share it simply. Forums There are many types of forums. What you are looking for is one related to your niche in some way. The best choice is going to be one which accepts short posts and graphics. It should be as simple to navigate as possible. One other consideration is can you also entertain as you share information. Entertaining? It doesn't make much difference in what you are doing the concept of fun has to be part of it. We even see people who are marketing holistic, natural medicines, and life styles alluding to fun. More in the sense of if you can’t function because of pain your life isn’t much fun. They also use “you can put fun back in your life” if you buy their product. What you have been waiting for What value do brand communities hold for you? It brings people who believe in your social cause, product, or service together. It also helps spread the value to them personally of your company using word of mouth advertising. In case you didn’t know there is no more valuable advertising than word of mouth. How we provide value?
