In reality you have been building your brand starting with the first person you talked to your business idea about. This in reality means “how to I create the visual identity and image I want others to see?” Brands even personal ones are about reaching those who see it on an emotional level. People don’t like to be sold; they do however love to buy. Can you create an environment where people are chomping at the bit to buy your product or service without selling? Most companies do this by showing their business in such a way as to create an emotional bond with would be and returning customers. Why is this done? Shoppers now are more informed than they were years ago. Now when they think about a purchase they research. What they want to know “is this going to benefit me?” Brands should more than happy to provide information of value to these potential customers. How should you do it? Whatever your product or services you should have some knowledge about it. This knowledge can be shared on a website and or articles written to your audience. Sometimes the hardest thing to figure out is what the audience is going to respond to. The value of social media The internet now is more social than it has ever been. To reach your audience you have to be found. Traffic exchanges are changing to a more social approach because they realized this. It is a place where you can find out what those who have bought and are considering buying are really looking for. Advocates This is generally a perk which can be gained on social media. These are satisfied customers who help you spread the word. They also often step in to help if something goes wrong. Reputation management is still up to you, advocates generally help though. What are customers looking for? What you will find is they are looking for Information and entertainment. Some people like tightrope walking dogs. Most just want their information in written or visual form. These should have some entertainment value. One thing that works is videos or written testimonials from satisfied customers. Everything you write or present visually should have information of value to the customer plus some entertainment value. Why use a business/brand consultant? Depending on the company, of which there are not many who do both, you can gain a better feeling of what you need to reach your customer base. For those already in business you brand can be enhanced filling your needs as well as your customers. © March 4 2013 11:30 AM CDT Dennis Thorgesen for Lisech eMarketing, All rights reserved.
