Building your brand; marketing on social media

For social media your brand needs a marketing plan. You can’t reach any goals if you don’t have them set. Most companies have no idea what is possible. They can’t set realistic goals due to this fact. Many have very real fears of hits to their reputation using social media. Expertise Make sure you are an expert in your field. If you are not it will show quickly and hurt your reputation. If you are not sure how your level of expertise will affect you take the time to learn more. The value of Facebook With Facebook especially you can do some great things. We use graphics (with branding) turned into pictures which can be uploaded. When we had 52 likes we had 48 people talking about our page. Our viral reach was over 600 within days of our first post. For the social media of others we have come close to the same numbers. Likes increased strictly from the effect of viral reach. It is recommended to know what you plan to post for 30 days posting twice a day. Times will be determined by the audience. People use Facebook to research what they are considering and 35 percent of buyers buy on Facebook as of the date of this post. Why twitter? Twitters value is in personal relationships except in certain circumstances. Yes we know it is hard to start a personal relationship when you are limited on characters. It can be done, usually by asking the person to join you on another social media where there are no limits. One of its other uses only has value if you have certain products or services and have someone monitoring twitter at least six hours a day. The better Press releases and wall posts have one of our accounts gaining new followers on auto pilot. What can you gain from Linked in Some people are not yet aware of the value of Linked in. It is not in posts to the wall. The groups you join and what you add to them is where its value is. Its best use is for business to business sales. The people who can make business decisions are more likely to be found there. When businesses are searching for other businesses to work with they are likely to look in Linked in first. Recommendations by others on Linked in are going to have a bearing. Google + In the long term Google + has done more for our business than anything other than IBO. It too is about personal relationships. Most of the people from IBO who have joined our circles have websites or blogs. A few of those in our circles have said they are finding our remarks on page one in their niche. This helps both them and us. In our business it doesn't matter what niche we end up in, there is value to those in any niche. Pinterest A picture is worth a thousand words. The people who use Pinterest seem to find this true. It has the highest conversion rate of any social media we are aware of. With recent changes it is now more usable for businesses. YouTube People have different styles of learning. One thing companies have learned is visual as well as voice creates more interest than pictures and written words. More searchers are choosing videos first as time progresses. Why social media? If you have a website or blog social signals are what in the end are going to get you ranked. People buy based on what they find on social media.
