Building your brand; trust

Your brand is dependent on trust; when you are building it make sure that this is a factor you consider. If people can’t trust your brand they may buy once, they won’t however be repeat customers. Word will also spread and new customers will be hard to find. Value A large factor is going to be the value you provide. Is it relevant to the people you are reaching? Can they find the same product or service for a better price? If so what are you adding to give your product more value? What surrounds you? This is an important consideration. If you are posting information which has no value this is not going to help you. The smartest move is not to post anything which could hurt your business. Everything you post online is going to be there for a long time. Managing your reputation It is better to manage your reputation before you find a need to do it online. There are tools which will let you know if something is damaging your reputation. The best advice is to find one and use it. Brand advocates This is something which should happen naturally. People are going to like you, your product or service. When you create satisfied customers some will become advocates for your brand. These are often your best natural defense for your reputation. Companies are run by people People make mistakes, businesses are run by people. The larger you get the more chance there is of making a mistake. Manage your mistakes which happen online in front of your audience as much as humanly possible. This is how you maintain others trust in you. Social responsibility You have to be prepared to act quickly. Company ethics will decide how you handle social responsibility. A company’s ethics are generally those of the founder or founders. They should always be available to anyone working for you in your business plan. What you provide must have value to those you reach. You should manage your online reputation by posting nothing which can hurt it. You are human and going to make mistakes. Don’t hide them.
