Building a brand; Branding tips for IBO members

As a brand building company we often donate a little time for friends. As time has progressed more people are coming to us for advice. Branding tips are sometimes appreciated. There are times when they are not. What gives us the knowledge to give tips? It takes four disciplines to create a brand. No one we have ever met is an expert in all four. In our case we have four minds, one in each discipline working for our company. Our advice On one of our Press releases we know you read recently you saw this saying. “Stand up, spit it out, sit down.” This works for branding photographs also. Although it takes three exposures for someone to learn they should not all be in the same photograph. Color Our advice is lightening the blue in the background, just as we said for the website. Run it for a month (because being different sometimes works). If you don't see an improvement cut back one logo. Try it for a month, if that doesn't work cut to one. We actually like the idea of having the logo on the left. It is something which isn't seen often. How light? How light for the blue? Go outside and look at the sky, no one here is sure how smoggy Las Vegas is now. Anyway it should be the blue of a crystal clear sky. Yes the one adding this does know how blue the sky is in Vegas, having passed through it enough times. He worked for a while in Utah and lived in Southern California. Another place to find the color Lisech eMarketing has a PR due shortly; we did take the time to find a blue for you to look at. Look at the top of the twitter button on The lightest blue you see should be the color you use. How to create brand advocates We don't know how you feel about talking to people. If you are comfortable doing it, after you associate with new people contact them through Skype or a phone call. Tell don't sell. Keep the calls short; leave them wanting more which they will have to visit the website to find. Be prepared Write a guide not a script. It is better to have an idea what areas you want to cover before you pick up the phone or Skype. You can either do it on a word document or have a hand written copy by the phone. An idea of what to say Welcome them to IBO, ask what they do, guide the phone call creating an opening during which you should tell them about the free services you offer on http:// Explain your idea of free means free, this should help you gain not only followers, it should turn a few people into brand advocates. A lot of what you do is truly amazing, people will see this if they are led in the right direction. Our feelings If we had done more of this it would have sped up the building up of our reputation. As it stands it took almost a year to build the one we have. You are off to a great start. We would like to see it not take as long to build your reputation. © February 26, 2013 9:55 PM CST Dennis Thorgesen for Lisech eMarketing, All rights reserved.
