Branding on social media should be part of your plan. We have heard many people say a presence on Facebook is the most important to have. Although it doesn’t have the highest conversion rate it is where people are and where they do research. 

Demographics and audience

With any social media you use, demographics and your audience is going to matter. Where possible you want the keywords you choose to be of interest to the audience. Another important point is do people meet the demographics you have chosen as your target market. Don't be afraid to delete those who do not meet the attributes you defined as your target market.

What is going to be the most important social media for you?

If you are working business to business Linkedin is still the place to be. Its value is in the groups you join. The groups you choose should contain people who can benefit from you expertise. If your area of expertise is somehow related to your product or service it is better.

Recommendations

Having recommendations earned and showing on the profile helps your reputation. Don’t accept recommendations you can’t live up to because they can damage your reputation. In business; living up to your reputation matters.

The value of twitter

Twitter’s value is manifold, learn to use it properly and you will do well with it. Personal relationships as with any social media are important. There are more uses for business if you have it monitored. A brief message is often all you need to create new business.

How to use Facebook

Your personal page is for relationship building. If your friends are going to be bothered by business posts create another profile. Business posts, especially tagged pictures end up on the private profile. Even using this method you should have a business page. Groups have value also. Pulling a group of like-minded people together can help each advance their business.

Why pinterest?

Pinterest is growing, sales were already happening at a higher percentage than Facebook. Seeing the trend pinterest has made changes which make it simpler for businesses to use. Everyone one seems to have photographs to share and the changes have made it easier to create relationships with others.

Google + and Google business pages are our favorites. It is becoming more interactive with hangouts. If you do a lot of sharing from your website blogs or other social media you have two ways to add comments. Just like any social media you build relationships which many times start with giving someone a +1 and leaving a comment.

Other values of Google +

On your profile you can add the links to websites or blogs giving them a high page ranked link back. Those who are in your circles when searching are now going to have your page before them when they search your keywords.

How to effectively use social media

For social media to be effective you have to use them. You can use every social media to advance the businesses of others. We have found by doing this we are gaining new friends and followers. If we find instances when others have shared something we have published, we share it with our group. You are just letting your followers know others find value in what you do.

Don’t take on more than you can handle

With good time management you can handle all the social media listed here. If you take on too many then neglect them this will hurt you in the long run.
