Why brand you?


Brands are a never ending story. They provide your identity and your image. This doesn't change with self-branding, other than your brand ends when you close your business. Most people can’t get their minds around the fact that brands have existed since the 1400’s.

Why does identity matter?

Identity is how others see you. This includes the pictures you use for branding. It is your physical location, your phone number, Skype address if you use it, as well as what others see on social networks. Paper products including your business card are also part of your identity. Online business cards and personal websites are also part of your identity.

Image is how others perceive your business. Things like are deliveries made in a timely fashion, do you share for others, and how you handle unsatisfied customers.

Answer to an email

What you did was give me a reason to share your product. What you didn't do is give me a reason they should talk to you. What you need to do is determine what makes you different from the thousands of others who carry the same product.

Why you?

Answer this question and you have branded yourself.

Losing income sources

People keep telling me their company will be around forever. I have lost two income sources in the past year. Believe me very few believed either would fail. Both created millionaires. There are those who lost millions when they failed. I now run my own business which is branded. It was actually started before the other two failed.

Brand you and people will follow you

Don't brand another's business. Call it premonition if you will. The truth is I listened to my mentor. He is a six figure a month earner who is well branded in many niches online and has an offline business also.

This is the model I have followed.

These questions we would ask in a consultation

  • Who have you recruited and how does it make you feel?


  • Are you teaching them what they need to know to market the product?


  • If not; why not? Your income depends on their success.


  • Do you use the product and what changes has it made in your life?


  • What makes you passionate about your product?


  • Why do you believe anyone should use it?


  • What makes you the unique person they should purchase from?


  • What are you offering the others in the program are not?

These are the questions we would ask anyone for whom we are creating a brand. When the person we are talking to can answer these questions and only then can we create their brand.

When self-branding the same questions have to be answered

When the answers are in front of us we work with our client to make sure everything we do is transparent. In essence we are branding the person as well as the business they run.


This we will answer with names. Have you heard of Steve Jobs, Sam Walton, or Walt Disney? Chances are you have. These are people who are self-branded as well as own branded companies.

Once you have the answers

Now you have something to market. You are no longer passing links and wondering if someone is going to opt in. People will know who you are. Some will like you others won’t. This is the nature of business.
