Internet branding; brands provide value

There is a misconception about internet branding. Brands must provide value to survive. This is no different for those who work MLM’s.

What is value?

It is letting prospective customers know what you are going to do for them another isn’t. It doesn’t have to be a physical added value. Emotion based add-ons work as well. It could be a social cause your prospective buyers believe in, to which you as a company make a donation to in some way. Is your customer service fantastic and something, which they are not finding elsewhere. Are you as a company doing something to keep the environment green.

This won’t work for MLM

What will work is training. Most people who join an MLM know very little. They want to know what works, for you to increase your earnings it makes sense to show them what is working for you. In each case something must be working or you wouldn’t have had anyone join you.

Some things to think about

What does an internet marketer who works a MLM provide? How did this come to be? Companies understand word of mouth is the most effective source of advertising in existence. The internet provides a way to pass on word of mouth which didn’t exist before. Each person who is working can add what these companies can’t which is a personal touch.

Automating affiliate marketing

This to some extent does work. In reality it works better than some forms of marketing. The ones who do it well make each individual feel like they are talking to them personally. The value is in treating each as they are the most important. Some can do this with thousands of followers.

Automating MLMs

We do see people who try to automate MLM signups. To some extent this might work, however if it worked well why wouldn’t the MLM companies just automate everything doing away with the internet marketer.

Old school and why it is important

Before the advent of the internet forms of affiliate marketing existed. People made millions if they knew what they were doing. There were all kinds of what we would now consider eBooks being sold. People earned a good living with those too. Not everyone succeeded, those who understood what it took did. These are the ones who made millions when the internet made it possible for them to reach more people faster.

What it took and what works today

What it took was one to one contact, in person, by phone, or mail. If the offer was something the people who received it thought was worthwhile it was shared by word of mouth. In reality not much has changed.

Post cards make great follow ups along with auto responders. Auto responders for the speed, postcards because they don’t have to be opened and if they catch the receivers eye they will read them. For post cards and personal emails though we recommend personal branding. This includes using colors which evoke emotion in those to whom you are sending marketing material. The telephone is still a great tool for giving value if used properly. 

Branding and marketing

Many people make the mistake of believing we are only a branding company. Our company is and always has been a marketing tools company. Brands are simpler to market than unbranded messes. There are those who will do well with personal branding. The personal brands we create are simple to market.
