BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie State University football team will hit the road in Week #5, traveling to Fayetteville (N.C.) State University for a 1 p.m. kickoff in the Luther “Nick” Geralds Stadium on the FSU campus. Fayetteville State enters the game with a record of 1-3 overall (0-1 CIAA) while Bowie State goes into the contest with an overall record of 4-0 (1-0 CIAA) and ranked #21 in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Poll.    LIVE STATS          LIVE VIDEO STREAM

Saturday will be the 30th overall meeting between the Bulldogs and Broncos on the gridiron. Fayetteville State, a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (Southern Division), dropped a tough 47-40 road decision at Virginia Union last weekend. Bowie State manhandled Shaw last Saturday by a final score of 76-7 on the Bulldogs’ home turf.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three Bowie State University football players earned CIAA weekly honors for Week #4 as selected by the conference's head coaches and Sports Information Directors on Tuesday morning. Senior Victor Tamba, Jr.  (District Heights, Md.) was named Offensive Lineman of the Week for the second time this season while junior Amir Hall (Bowie, Md.) was voted Quarterback of the Week (for the third time) and sophomore Gene Carson, III. (Accokeek, Md.) was selected Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time.

Tamba assisted his Bulldog teammates in accounting for a Bowie State school record of 748 yards of total offense in Saturday night's 76-7 blowout of the Shaw Bears. Hall, the reining CIAA Offensive Player of the Year, put on another amazing performance on Saturday night, torching the Shaw Bears defense with 420 passing yards and tied his own school record of six passing TD's. He completed 22-of-33 passes (no interceptions) with his longest being an 80 yard touchdown. Carson likely had to ice his leg down after Bowie State's 76-7 win against Shaw as he went a perfect 10-for-10 in PAT's and added field goals of 28 and 25 yards on Saturday evening. Carson also averaged 56.2 yards per kickoff and had one touchback.
