Mozart's Video Marketing Strategy?

Apparently, Mozart never edited his music.  It came off his quill perfect first time, every time.

Now that, by anyone’s standard, is surely genius.

The question that’s worth asking is: How did he know?


It’s easy for us to listen with the benefit of more than two centuries’ worth of global approval and agree that he did indeed know what he was doing.

But to have that degree of confidence at the time … that’s another matter.

Why does this matter to us?  Most of us aren’t even going to attempt to emulate his prowess, are we?

Well, as composers, probably not.  But as broadcasters on video, a little sprinkling of Mozart’s magical touch wouldn’t go amiss.

Is it possible to know, in advance, that a message we want to convey to our customers or prospects will hit home first time?

Could we possibly be certain that what we say will have the desired effect and that our viewers will happily convert themselves into list subscribers and paying consumers of whatever we have on offer?


Video Is Here To Stay


Video isn’t going away any time soon. 

In fact, it’s presence is burgeoning at such a pace that Google has updated its Chrome browser to prevent videos from autoplaying on websites if they have a soundtrack, something that would have been completely unnecessary just a handful of years ago.

Facebook live, Youtube live and now even Twitter feeds are bristling with video.

We need to know what to say, how to say it the way our chosen target audience will want to hear it.  Furthermore, we must create a presence that has immediate and lasting impact if we are not only to be heard in all the hubbub, but also be remembered afterwards too.

It CAN be done.  And it doesn’t require expensive equipment, (your cell phone’s camera and mic will do), or a range of video gimmicks.

The primary skill needed is no different from that used by the Ancient Greek philosophers, Julius Caesar or Oprah.  And we don’t even need to be as good as them.


The Only Skill You REALLY Need


The skill, of course, is the ability to communicate well enough to heard and understood, and impactful enough to inspire those who see and hear our message to want to take action - and to want more!

This has now become a marketing fundamental, as basic to our profession as toilet tissue is to family life.

(Sorry for the crass image, but the bottom line is what gets the point across.  And yes, pun intended!)
