I worked as a Nureses Aide for about 20 years. I did that off and on. I would go back to waitressing and bartending in between. I worked several diferent Nursing Homes. I had to make the residents beds. I had to shower and dress them. I had to change beds for those that were incontenet that means they wet and have bowell movements in thier pants, as well as when they were in bed they would also wet, and have bowell movements in thier beds they were paded with a rubber sheet and a sheet to cover the rubber sheet, and diapers on top of that. we had to change that and give them a clean bed. Some of them wore depends or paper diepers. Some of them had paper diapers on the bed called chalks. Ialso had to run the wheel chair residents to the dinning room. And walk with the ones that had walkers. Once I had them all down to the dinning room. We would pass trays to those who could feed themselves. Then we took the trays to those we had to feed and feed them two at a time some times more when we didn't have enough help because people didn;t show up for work. After breakfast some of them went to bed untill lunch time. after thier naps we would get them readdy for dinner. After dinner we got them ready for bed and put them too bed. WE had to do some of the treatments for the nurse or help her with procedures she had to do. And we changed thier beds which is called a bed check for those who wet and messed thier beds before the end of our shift we did thisn with the oncomeing shift. We also had to turn those who couldn't do it for themselves. They were bed riden and needed help. I worked at several Nursing Homes they were Livingston care Home in Michigan. North east care center in Illinoise. And green brier Nursing Home in Michigan. Stockbridge country Manner in Michigan.
