If you understand the meaning behind the title "Sell the sizzle and not the steak" then you are no doubt seeing results from your efforts. The steak represents your product or services. What can you do to add value to your product or service?
People will buy for emotional reasons and justify with logic later. Hence when you promote do so by translating features into benefits. Are you a chiropractor, then highlight the relief from soreness or pain. Paint a mental picture of someone now active, smiling, and happy. Show them playing with their children or golfing with buddies. That's the sizzle.
People will generally do more to avoid pain then they will to gain pleasure. Therefore start your advertisements with the pain they want to avoid. Are you experiencing stiffness in your lower back or tightness in your shoulders?
