Born in Johannesburg South Africa 29 September 1952, but bred in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) from the age of 2 years. Schooling was undertaken at Alfred Beit and Alan Wilson Technical High in Salisbury (Harare), where-after I joined Standard Bank.

The Nick Name "Dweet" came from one of my Territorial Army buddies, an Englishman named Clive Wright, who could not quite get "de Wet" (pronounced de Vet) right. I served in the 1st & 4th Battalions of the Rhodesia Regiment from 1972 to 1980.

Married early in life at age 22, to my wonderful wife Dianne, and at 28 years, with 2 daughters (4 yrs & 6mths), left Zimbabwe and immigrated back to South Africa. From 1981, we basically had to restart life with nothing but our 1972 Datsun car, 1966 Gypsey caravan, household furniture and a whopping R1,000.00

Spent 34 years in the Financial Banking Industry, from grass roots branch banking to Head Office Senior Project Management status. Left the Corporate world to run my own Bottle Store Business (Vyfster Drankwinkel) from 2004 to 2009.

Have traveled fairly extensively privately visiting London, Rome, Nice, Malaga, Grenada (Spain), Gibraltar, Al Garves (Portugal), Amsterdam, Havana Cuba, Cancun, Puerto Valarta (Mexico), Miami, Key West, Cape Kennedy, Kenya and Bilene (Mocambique). I simply love the bush hence my reason for living in the beautiful country surrounds of Tzaneen, in the Limpopo Province in the North of South Africa. The Kruger National Park is just over 1 hours drive from our home.

So what? Why should you be interested? Why am I telling you this?

Simple, to prove to you that you can re-start your life successfully and enjoy traveling etc. if you put your mind to it. And it comes so much easier if you SHARE your experiences and your opportunities with others.

Being semi-retired, I'm now sharing opportunities with others through my trading name Tartra Technologies. Feel free to join my Linked In Group "Sharing Opportunities with Others" and any of my social networks.

I'm an avid believer of Karma in that what you sew you shall reap, what goes round comes around! Make sure your thoughts are positive in this aspect because negativity works in exactly the same way.

Being semi-retired, I'm now sharing opportunities with others through my trading name Tartra Technologies. Please feel free to join my Linked In Group called "Sharing Opportunities with Others" and any of my other social networks. To your success!

My goal is to share opportunities with as many people as I can, by providing an electronic platform via my trading name Tartra Technologies for them to do the same. (The name Tartra comes from the first 3 characters of my daughters names Tara and Tracey) To give someone an opportunity in life is one of the greatest gifts one can give.
