When someone makes that decision on becoming a Doterra independent consultant they are not just purchasing a business, they are also embarking on one of the most inclusive personal development programs in the world today. 

When I first joined Doterra, my sponsor said exactly that to me and of course I was skeptical because I thought I was joining a business opportunity. I simply wanted to make some money and was not really interested in developing myself in the sense of personal development. 

Yes, I wanted to learn more about making money from Doterra and how to share the products globally. If you are wondering, they have done a very good job of doing that. I got support from my upline in the early days and now I am really in collaboration with much of our leadership in my up and downline. 

As I have moved forward in my journey with Doterra I have begun to realize that there is levels of benefits that only appear once someone has been in Doterra for a while. For example, we start our journey with the fundamental benefits, but progress overtime into deeper intermediate and finally the enlightened benefits.

Let me say from the start that these are not ranks in Doterra, these are how I see the benefits developing over the time I have been in Doterra.

The fundamental benefits of becoming a Doterra essential oils consultant

One of the fundamental benefits of joining Doterra is of course the products. Doterra make superb products, they are I believe the highest quality essential oils in the world. 85% of all Doterra members are either retail customers, wholesale customers or very low key and mainly personal use wellness advocates and because of this the global sales are booming. 

The second fundamental benefit and quite important for many people new to Doterra and that is the value for money in regards to the enrollment cost and the business package. Depending where you live in the world the enrollment fee for a Wellness Advocate or Wholesale customer is 35$ / 20€ / £20 / 50 AUD which allows you to get 25% off all the Doterra products, however if you purchase a product enrollment kit the enrollment fee in waived. Also, you get a massive price reductions if you purchase a product enrollment kit rather than the oils individually and there is no monthly fee. 

Note: For the Wellness Advocate there is an additional benefits, because they are purchasing a business, their packaged has a Free Webshop, back office and no monthly fee. 

The third fundamental benefit is the education available to all members. If you are a Wholesale customer you can receive a one on one Membership overview, Facebook group product overviews and education and a weekly product guide newsletter to keep you up to date with the latest information about using essential oils. 

As for the Wellness Advocate, their training is more inclusive in the sense they will be offered one on one training, group training, weekly webinar, weekly podcast, weekly business and products newsletter, Facebook support group and sponsor support.

The intermediate benefits of becoming a Doterra essential oils consultant

The intermediate benefits I would consider as something we gain during the working of the business, when we have committed ourselves to treating Doterra as a business. 

The likelihood is that someone gaining the intermediate benefits have gained the rank of Premier or Silver and have a belief in the products and the company. They are also beginning to see themselves as true leaders and with that sense of confidence. They can see the possibilities of where their Doterra business will take you. 

They have begun to identify their skill set, who they are as a person, as a parent, as a partner and as a entrepreneur and how they want to share their strengths to their team. However, an unwitting consequence is the new and interesting relationships they may have built among the other members of Doterra which will include your upline, downline and any other collaborations they have developed during the early period of their journey.  

In regards to collaborating with others, JUST DO IT! You really will be surprised. I have found that collaborations that you could not imagine would work successfully seems to create the most dynamic results as in the podcasts I do with Shari Soelberg at Do Essential Chat . We as individuals would walk seamlessly passed each other in the street, but as a consequence of our podcast we have created a deep and complimentary relationship with in the framework of our podcasts which still continues today.   

In addition, those feeling the intermediate benefits have started to see the financial benefits of being a Doterra Wellness Advocate and even some of our team members are starting to earn a little extra.

When we get to this stage of our business, things like money and rank become less important because we have achieved success and we have money and a respectful rank. However, success is a fickle mistress, once we have gain her, we almost instantly loss her.  

At this stage we start asking the bigger questions such as WHY. Why are we doing what we are doing?  The quick and easy answer would be, "We done it for the money!!" Yes, that may have been our original goal, but we have the money, what now? 

We may have goals that we have achieved and we may have found other goals that we feel that we could achieve in the future. However, that is not really our true WHY. Asking ourselves why we took this journey will be a deeper more philosophical discussion about who we are as a person and what do we want from life beyond the short term gratifications of money and material things.  

I have to admit, that this was a tough area of discussion for me. I of course had my goals and slowly but surely I achieved them, but the true inner goal or my WHY was far more difficult. I had taking this journey and had been committed enough to climb up each step. 

I am sure for many of you who have not yet, gained this level of commitment in Doterra will not for a second see this as a benefit. However, the ability or even the opportunity to consider going beyond the money aspect of Doterra means you have achieve a deeper form of success and will be able to move forward in life more mentally and psychologically sound, which for me is a benefit for all of us.
