My friend Marian Gurowicz made the comment on one of my blogs - "...Not just like a bystander whom things happen to" and it caused a desire to write this blog.
Have you ever noticed that most things that people want you to do with your life, are things that they haven't created? They are telling you what works and what doesn't work. Yet, you recognize that you don't want what they are receiving in their life. So why are you following their unproven messages?
If you have ever watched a movie or slide projector (and who hasn't - lol), you noticed that the film that is used is just made up of small snap shots of what will be projected and become large on a big screen and is designed to allow the world to see it clearly and large as life.
The small snap shots are what is going on in the inside of you. Your "actions" are the lights reflecting on those small shots and making them into a huge picture for the world to see.
So what does that have to do with being a bystander?
If you don't start to follow your passions, desires and purpose (which is just to be happy), you are allowing others to place their footprints, stories on your film. You then proceed to make comments like "things just happen to me". Well stop allowing things to happen to you and start to make things happen for you.
It is said that we are all born unique, yet most die as copies. Why? Most people are not participating in their life. They are standing by (being a bystander) and allowing others to create another "copy". We don't need more copies. We need uniqueness. So don't stand by and allow others to decide your future for you. Take control of your life. Begin to participate today and create the best movie the world has ever seen. By the way, they are watching, so why not give them an incredible show.
It ain't right. It ain't wrong. It's just my opinion.

 | | Thanks Barbara for sharing your insights. I would say thinking before taking a risk is called wisdom. Most people just take action and then have to apologize or dig themselves out of things, where if they had thought it through, they would have done things differently. Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about procrastination - lol Although I heard it said that procrastination is not bad, just make sure you plan it :-) |
| | | | | I was never a bystander until very recently - not sure if it's an age thing, but I do think now before taking risks.
At one time I wouldn't have given it a second thought ! |
| | | | | Hey Richard. Thanks for visiting and giving input |
| | | | | What's up Eric? Thanks for taking the time to read and share your comments. We agree Eric that being a bystander is how things happen to you. As it is said, if you sit on the railroad track, eventually the train is coming. |

| | | | | That's awesome Donna. I know it is a great feeling. Keep making it happen my friend. |
| | | | | Very good post. I agree that you have to make an effort to put your dreams into action. Being a bystander is not how you make things happen... Thank you for this enlightening post. |
| | | | | Nice blog Ron, have been a bystander for years & now living life! |
| | | | | I appreciate your time and input Idriss |
| | | | | We are in agreement my man. It is said that a 5 year old is driving most people. In short, "mini me". You just created my next blog about the 5 year old. Thanks my friend. |
| | | | | Being a Bystander is plein procrastination. It is conter productive. Thanks for bringing up this topic. |
| | | | | An excellent article Ron, I've always believed in watching what they do, not what they say. Most people are living a life their parents or friends decide for them, not the passion that is inside themselves. TB&L my friend |
