So what is success? Success has come to mean different things to everyone (or should I say since we have allowed others to define it for us).
I was listening to Tony Robbins and he commented about someone in the audience (at one of his training events) defining success as earning at least $10 million dollars a year. This individual was already earning around 4 or 5 million. Yet he didn't feel successful because of his definition of what success meant.
He had someone else in the audience who commented that she is successful everyday that she wakes up and her feet hit the floor. Well I personally have adopted that thought process ever since I heard it.
We have to set ourselves up to succeed. If we believe we are successful, we encourage ourselves to continue this journey (called life). Most have been trained that success is something we have to go after.
My belief is, those things you are "chasing after" are just different ways to experience life. Success is appreciating what you already have. When people come to grips with the idea that success is just being happy and having peace in their life, they will begin to feel FREE.
I know some of you will disagree and that is your right. But before you disagree, ask yourself, why do you want the things that you are chasing? If you keep asking why, you will get to the bottom line which is, being happy and at peace (FREE).
So the short cut to success is to appreciate where you are in your life and to just be happy. Once you are happy, you can start to truly enjoy this journey that is called "LIFE".
So I ask you again, "what is success?"
It ain't right. It ain't wrong. It's just my opinion

| | | | | Thanks Roland for the comment. It is funny that you wrote "creating your own definition of success" because I am throwing around an idea of creating a World Dictionary. Taking what is a negative word and making it into a positive word. It will allow people to take the sting off of the negative word. Since we get what we focus us. I want people to focus on what they really want vs what they really don't want. Especially since they will get both. |
