No Pain – No Gain Myth No Pain No Gain Myth, no pain no gain, pain gain, no gain without pain, gain without pain

I believe the no pain, no gain philosophy is another way to keep people from succeeding.
Tony Robbins (one of my favorite people to listen to) is always mentioning that we do things for 1 of 2 reasons: 1) to avoid pain or 2) gain pleasure. He goes on to say that we will do more to avoid pain in most cases than to gain pleasure.
So that made me think. If this were true (and I believe it is), if you tell people something is going to be painful, wouldn’t that mean most people would avoid it?
So if I tell you in order to be successful in business, it means pain. Losing weight is painful. Didn’t I just sabotage you?
Why is it that we are not sharing with people that losing weight is pleasurable and share methods of how it can be done? I have seen a lot of people play basketball, swim (which they enjoy) and lose weight. For them, that is pleasure (not pain).
Haven’t you noticed that the most successful people work less, not more? They are traveling (pleasure), playing golf, etc… while the people that work hard (pain) are the employees.
So a quick message to the 80%: quit listening to the garbage. Listening to the inner feelings within you. They will guide you to pleasure, which will bring you success.
Remember, success means different things to different people. Do not allow others to define it for you.
It ain’t right. It ain’t wrong. It’s just my opinion

| | | | | Funny that I am reading this just before going to the dentist - I will focus on the pleasure of having a beautiful smile and not the pain of the drill (smh)! But I do agree with you - the appreciation of the outcome is connected to what one chooses to focus on in the journey. Great share Ron - continued success to you! |
