John Maxwell talked about a powerful subject: “Inner Voice”. It got me excited because it is such a powerful issue and most don’t understand the impact. So I decided to share my perspective.
I was in a self-growth program one time and we talked about the inner voice.
We were asked to be quiet and just listen to the inner voice. My inner voice said, “shhh, there is nobody in here, shhhh”. That was the day I realized why my personality is the way it is. My inner voice is a comedian.
That night, I was trying to go to sleep and the voices were loud, so I suggested to them “I don’t mind you talking, but if you could quiet down a little bit, so I can go to sleep. I will get back with you in the morning”. I shared this in class and everyone was laughing.
So what is my point? The inner voices are always talking. Most of the time they are sharing input from TV, family, friends, teachers, mentors, etc… So most of your inner voices are just a reflection of the external voices you have received throughout your life.
Those voices can lead you to make good decisions and they can also lead you to make bad decisions. We must remember that everyone shares information that work for them.
The challenge can be when we take others information and use it in our lives. Especially when we start using phrases like, “I am just keeping it real” or “it’s the truth”. It may be true and real for them, but it may not work in your or my life.
We have a proven system within us. Designed especially for each of us. Inside of us is our own GPS system. It will guide you to make the best decisions. The challenge for most is they don’t trust it. Yet it was placed there to guide you through this life.
It is your internal FEELINGS.
If you stop for a second and notice how you feel, your GPS will kick in and tell you whether this is a good or bad move for YOU. I didn’t say for others. I said for YOU.
This GPS system goes by different names. I am not here to tell anyone what to believe. Some will call it God, Jesus, Buddha, vibration, energy, etc…
No matter what you call it, you need to listen to it. People are searching for something complicated when the gift was given to them to make the process simple.
I know there are those that will disagree with what I wrote. Here is my question to you: You have tried it your way, how is it working for you?
If your life is where you really want it (I didn’t say settling), then keep doing what you are doing. If you want more, try listening to your feelings and watch the peace that comes into your life and more importantly, how you start to attract the things you REALLY WANT into your life.
It ain’t right. It ain’t wrong. It’s just my opinion.

We each have the ability to discern what will work for us and what won't, again if we stop to listen. Many business decisions made in the past year and a half were made by listening this way. |
