People are always talking about you must overcome your fears. Well, it depends on what the fear is.
I was having a conversation one day with someone and we were on the subject of fear. I mentioned that I would not jump out of a plane that was going to land (just for the fun of it). The person told me that I need to do it because you should overcome all fears.
That is one of the craziest ideas I have ever heard. I have a fear of putting my finger in a socket when my finger is wet. According to that thought process, I should stick my finger in a socket. I have a fear of snakes. So I guess I should do like that show fear factor and get in a tank full of snakes. What purpose does it serve? Those snakes are not in my path and keeping me from where I want to go.
Most don't realize that fear is placed inside of you as a protection mechanism. It is there to keep you out of harms way. That is why I tell people, everyone that is negative about something you are trying to accomplish is not necessarily trying to destroy you, sabotage you and all the other things people are told. Some people actually care and don't want to see you hurt.
So in both of these instances (fear and negativity), you have to be able to decide on are they protecting you and you need to pay attention or if they are a stumbling block. If they are keeping you from where you want to go, then you must face them and beat them down :-)
As Tony Robbins says, as long as fear is a guide and not a jailor.
With that said, if the plane was about to crash, give me a parachute and I am overcoming that fear. If the house is on fire and a snake is what is keeping me from getting out, me and that snake will rumble. Fear only needs to be addressed if it is blocking you.
It ain't right, it ain't wrong, it's just my opinion.

 | | Agree, I would not jump from a plane or other dangerous things. Not for FEAR (False, Evidence, Appearing, Real.) but from being wise enough to know dont do that! LOL. Totally agree with your advice on getting rid of what blocks you. We do grow when we get out of that comfort zone. |
| | | | | I really love your way of thinking about things. Food for thought once again. Thank you. |

| | | | | You make good points Ron..there is a book called "Feel the Fear and do it Anyway"..but it certainly pertains to things that are holding you back. Thank you for this excellent post;) |
| | | | | That's funny Dennis. It is amazing how results will change an atmosphere - lol
Thanks for your response |
| | | | | When it comes to business fear or negativity should not be a factor. Our "office" was the most negative place on the planet when we started our business. We thought it was funny when the checks or deposits started coming in, things got quiet real fast. |
