11 Effective Tips to Lose Belly Fat

Belly fat — referred to as visceral fat — is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes, heart disease and other conditions. Though losing fat from this area can be difficult, there are several things you can do to reduce excess abdominal fat.

1. Eat Plenty of Soluble Fiber- Not getting enough fiber in your diet is very bad for your health.

2. Avoid Foods That Contain Trans Fats- Trans fat is very bad for your health

3. Don't Drink Too Much Alcohol- Consuming alittle alcohol is good for your health, but comsuming alot is danger to your health. You can cut back on how much you drink. Heavy alcohol consumption increases risk of several diseases and is linked to excess belly fat.

4. Eat a High-Protein Diet- While you're adding protein to your diet, you should also stock up on "smart carbs" such as: Fruits, Vegetables, Whole grains, Beans and legumes (both also have protein), Low-fat milk and yogurt (both have protein)

5. Reduce Your Stress Levels- I know we all got alot going on in our lifes, but cutting stress down by mediation will reduce belly fat

6. Don't Eat a Lot of Sugary Foods- High-sugar foods include cakes and candies, along with so-called "healthier" choices like muffins and frozen yogurt. Soda, flavored coffee drinks and sweet tea are among the most popular sugar-sweetened beverages.

7. Do Aerobic Exercise (Cardio)- Common cardio exercises are brisk walking, running, cycling, swimming, rowing, and cross-country skiing. In the gym, cardio machines include treadmill, elliptical trainer, stationary cycles, stepping machine, rowing machine, and ski trainer.

8. Cut Back on Carbs, Especially Refined Carbs- Refined carbs are white flour, white bread, white rice, pastries, sodas, snacks, pasta, sweets, breakfast cereals and added sugars. They are also added to all sorts of processed foods.

9. Genetics- (plays a BIG role in belly fat) so if the genetics is your problem in losing belly fat I would recommend really working on the other steps HARD.

10. Not Enough Sleep- Getting enough sleep is crucial for your health.

11. Inactive- Being inactive and watching TV and not exercising is a highly danger to your health
