The Power of a Positive Mental Attitude

It is a fact that a positive mental attitude will improve our outlook in life. Instead of seeing dark clouds when we face a challenge, we tend to see opportunities in those challenges.

Life is not always a bed of roses, but as we work through our challenges, a positive mental attitude allows us to smell the scent of the roses, even though we may not see them.

Here are some tips on how we can develop a Positive Mental Attitude that helps us through the ups and down of life.

1) Stop Complaining

Complaining is something that we all do at times. And if you don't believe me, try an experiment. A few years ago I joined a group named "A complaint Free World". As "Mr Positive", as my late wife called me at times, thought this is my kind of group. We each received a purple rubber band that we wore on one of our wrists.

The idea was when we caught ourselves complaining, to switch the rubber band to the other wrist. It is interesting how conscious we become when we are tested like that. Sometimes I did not switch wrists for a few days, but sometimes ... . To make the story short, I wore out the rubber band with in a few month.

That was an awesome experiment. Still today, after years, I catch myself when I complain about something. It helped me tremendously. Try it.

2) Be Grateful

No matter how difficult our life may seem, we have to remember the things that we are grateful for. Instead of looking at all the stuff you want, stop and look at everything you have, especially the people in your life. Be grateful. Make a conscious effort to focus on what is right in your life, instead of what is wrong.

3) Bathe yourself in Positivity

Always watch positive shows, hang around positive people, reading positive books, positive audios and videos, as well as listening to positive music. All this positivity will help change your mindset from negative to positive. Negative habits, to positive habits.

The power of a positive mental attitude will not make you successful on its own, but it will go along way to crystalize your dreams, developing your plans, and drive you to action to make your dreams a reality!
