I have no special talent.
I'm only passionately curious

I have no special talent. I'm only passionately curious

Talent vs curiosity

Albert Einstein never considered himself special, or a genius, as some people call him. Yet he made a number of brilliant discoveries. This should be inspiring to all of us, considering everyone is curious to some extent. And the only thing that makes some people special, is within all of us.

You don’t need any special talent to be curious. All you need to do is develop a passion around that one thing you are super-curious about.

Contrary to what most people believe, talent only has a small role to play in determining whether or not we are going to be successful. Some great talents live up to the lofty expectations, while others give up along the way, because they weren’t passionate enough to follow their dream.

So how do you develop enough passion, to be considered special?

Find out what it is that makes you tick, and tirelessly pursue it. Become a student, ready to learn from the leaders in your field. Observe their passion for their profession. Never shy away from asking questions. Whenever you see something that you are genuinely interested in, strike up a conversation with people you meet, and ask questions.

This is the only way you learn something new and stretch your horizon. Besides learning, you might end up cultivating new friendships, which may lead to cooperative ventures in the future. You will be recognized for your passionate pursuit of knowledge.

Give yourself the opportunity to learn or experiment with something new every day. This could be writing a short story, if your passion is to become a fictional writer, or experimenting with new ways to get leads, if you are in the sales field, for instance.

Finally, do not worry about whether or not you have any talent. Instead, give your curiosity and passion a free rein to take you to become the special person you were meant to be.
