Demonstrating self reliance increases my confidence

Demonstrating self reliance increases my confidence

Self-reliance and self-confidence are two words very closely related, whereby one can’t do without the other. In other words self-reliance and self-confidence are dependent qualities. Let's define each one:

SELF-RELIANCE - Self-reliance means depending on our own inner strength, abilities, power and resources to overcome the daily challenges.

SELF-CONFIDENCE - Self-confidence on the other hand is trusting in our own abilities and judgement. These two qualities are very important in our self-improvement.

First, as a self-reliant person we don’t have to depend on other people to solve our problems, we face them head on and more often than not, we come out of the situation stronger and wiser. Being self-reliant will enable us to fight on, even after a failure, which is one of the best ways to learn life’s lessons.

Second, as a self-reliant person we discover our own strengths and weaknesses, putting us in a better position to improve on our weaknesses, and concentrate on our strengths to become a better person.

Third, we become a better judge of what is right and wrong, which does not necessarily mean that we conform to the societal standard. Being self-reliant, also makes us independent thinkers, making decisions without influence of others. We become more self-controlled, and have a greater potential to achieve success.

When we depend on our own judgement to make even the tiniest decisions, we become more mature and tend to be happier and more satisfied. It always feel good when we make right decisions.

With self-reliance and confidence we become emotionally strong, and are not shaken by small mishaps in our life.

Looking at the benefits, it ultimately pays to cultivate and grow our self-reliance and confidence. It is the only road to true freedom, and being our own person is the ultimate reward. With our inner strength, abilities, and power we can demonstrate to the world what true freedom is, and be an example in our community, our country, and to the world.
