10  ways to love - listen, speak, give, pray, answer, share, enjoy, trust, forgive, promise

We talk a lot about love. Love for ones soul mate, wife or husband. Children. Family, and Friends. We express our love in different ways, and for some people it does not come that easy to express their love. Here are ten ways we can show our love in subtle, and not so subtle ways (in no particular order):

1. Be a good listener. Most people have very poor listening skills because they always interrupt others. Instead of listening, they think of what they are going to say next. Whenever you are in an argument, do not be fast to talk, but always listen. Listening will make the other person feel appreciated.

2. Speak but do not accuse or indict. When making an argument do not make the other person feel like they are in a court of law. Speak to them as you would like to be spoken to.

3. Be a giver. Most people only want to be on the receiving end. Giving shows our true nature. Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin. We have to be able to give, as well as receive.

4. Pray for him or her. The majority of us believe in a higher power. Remembering someone you love in prayer, shows that you really love and care for that person.

5. Answer promptly but do not argue. When you are asked about something you did, do not get overly defensive, or even start an argument. Answer earnestly and don’t leave any doubt.

6. Share with them. Sharing does not only mean materialistic things but also intangible stuff like advice, your feelings, and your company. Never pretend when sharing, if you really don’t want to, it wouldn’t mean anything.

7. Enjoy each other’s company. Be comfortable around those you love. You don’t have to pretend around them, because these are the people that know you the most.

8. Trust the people you love. Trusting someone is sometimes not that easy. It takes time and patience. However, if someone hasn’t given you the reason not to, trust them with all your heart.

9. Learn to forgive. Remember that nobody is perfect, and that we all make mistakes. If someone you love wrongs you, get a little angry, but remember to forgive him or her. It will cleanse your soul, and show a lot of love for the other person.

10. Always make promises that you can keep. Do not make a promise and forget about it, or go back on them. Promise to always be there for them, and make sure that you do.
