One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us

One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us

The past has very little to do with what will happen in the future. If we had failures in the past, we learn from them and shut the door. If we had successes in the past, we use them as stepping stones, but we don't keep looking back.

That part of our life is gone. To achieve our future dreams, we must concentrate on our goals, and on the plans we laid out to achieve those goals.

At times we fight so hard to achieve our goals, that we can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel. When this happens, all we need to do is stop for a moment and visualize the images of our dream. This will invigorate us, and give us new zeal to carry on.

Most people, after working so hard, and loosing sight of their purpose for a moment, and not seeing the success they hoped for, get frustrated and give up.

Although they may be so close to success, they look back at past failures, and they get a feeling of deja-vu. Do not look back. The past is no reflection of what happens in the future, unless you keep looking in the rear view mirror, until you hit a wall. And that wall is another failure.

We must leave the past behind, or it will become a burden that will drag us down to the point where it jeopardizes our future.

A championship competitor, when running his race, does not look back. All he sees is his goal in front of him, and he gives it his best effort to succeed.

Live your life like a championship competitor with a clear vision of your goal, and give it your best effort, and you will end up on the winner podium.
