Planning Your Social Media Activities

Creating a plan for your social media is a great way to be consistent. Set goals and focus on end results. Here are a few steps:

Make a set amount of new contacts per week – two per day is a great goal. Plan the time that you're on social media. Morning, mid-afternoon, end of the work day and possibly late evening before you go to bed are times you can to there. Determine the amount of time to be spent on social media each time you get on. Stick with the plan.

By posting regularly, you're going to get fans and listeners. When you engage with people answering your questions or responding to your posts, those are contacts. Try to connect with at least two people per day.

Trying different times of the day, even if it's for a few minutes each day, will help you catch different people online at different times. There are certain days that have more users than others, such as Tuesdays, Fridays and Sunday, but it changes occasionally. On Sunday, anytime is really a good time to be online. Sunday evening at 8:00 o'clock Eastern Time may be when you're going to have the greatest audience. Twitter and Facebook have grown so much that almost every time you're on there; it's going to be productive.

Make sure that social media's not eating up your time. Get on it first thing before heading out for the day and set your timer if you need to. Three times a day is a pretty good schedule because you can hit different time zones if you need to. If your plans change, or if you're out of the office, maybe you can do your social media on your phone while waiting on an appointment. But do not let it control you.

Just make sure to set up the time on your daily calendar. Create a plan that includes timing and content. Make a point, and have some sort of a goal when doing social media or you're wasting your time.

Social #Media Similar to #Facebook Shares 70% of Income with Users.
