Who's Ready for the Next Level?

Most would probably agree that no one person has all the answers, and while it is important to have learned essential lessons from our past, there is a key exercise that great leaders use to ensure their success.

Fortunately, this exercise is simple and costs nothing. While many people might claim to use this exercise or principle, it has been discovered that very few actually do.

Ask yourself this question: am I normally ready, willing and able to examine, consider and discuss why this is essential to being an effective leader in today's world.

Why must great leaders be open-minded or at least open to new possibilities?

It's natural to become comfortable in our way of thinking and our way of seeing things. Therefore it takes extra effort to bring ourselves to put aside, for the moment, old notions and ask what might be possible if we were working with a clean slate.

Let's for a moment consider the following:

  1. Begin by seeing the past as the past thus leaving opportunity to explore alternatives.

  2. Determine what is really important to fully realize the goal.

  3. Emphasize the need to maintain one's integrity.

  4. Be willing to take calculated risks. This can have the effect of energizing our will and resolve to succeed with a particular objective.

These four exercises are but a few but can jump start our climb to the next level in our leadership journey.

For those wanting to catapult to the next level please consider joining a team of leaders who are intentionally making a marked difference in their leading capacity.
