Having a Conversation with Myself

Having a Conversation with Myself...

As a youngster I often heard that people who talked to themselves were mentally off balanced, to put it mildly. However, I seem to have quite a few conversations with me lately and I think I am rather level headed. I think I'm OK. But...

Let me share this conversation with myself for your amusement or edification.

I began, Are you the kind of person who stands detached from life, watching it happen in front of you, and then looking back in wonder as to what happened and why.

Or, are you the one who sees life as you being on a raft carried along by the "rapids" of life and you constantly  watch for those unexpected rocks that may appear at any moment; being hurdled switfly past beautiful scenery but not having time or capacity to take in all in. (Oh if I had a catamaran instead of this raft.)

Or, the one who searches for reality, destiny, Truth. One who sees life as an adventurous journey where each new day brings its own challenges and rewards; the one who is open to life, that life may be lived through me. Now there's a thought. Doesn't that leave me too vulnerable? Ah!!! But why to people walk tight ropes suspended over great heights? Or, why does anyone take life threatening risks?

I think I know why, I tell myself, but wouldn't it be fun to see what others might add to this conversation?

I agreed with myself and is willing and anxious to read what others may have to say.

Wishing all a great and life invigorating holiday season.
