Great News for some Homeowners

The Federal Housing Finance Agency in 2009 set up the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) to help rescue homeowners whose homes were under water due to the storms of that year. Although designed primarily for storm victims, it was modified and made available to other homeowners as well.

The program is scheduled to expire December 31,2016 so time is of the essence for those who may be elgible for refinancing their mortgage.

For those who qualify the savings could be substancial. For example, ones monthly payment could be reduced as well as the interest rate.

To determine if you qualify visit the HARP website at harpprogram.org or call 1-888-666-5019.

The wisdom behind the enhanced program, (HARP 2.0) was to put money back into the hands of the homeowner and thereby stimulate the economy. This should be welcomed by many homeowners and particularly those who may be struggling to make their mortgage payments.

The good news is that homeowners who may have first and second mortgages may also qualify for the HARP program. All it takes is a phone call to HARP to get your questions answered.

More good news is that homeowners who did not qualify under the original HARP Program may now qualify under the enhanced HARP 2.0 program.

Thanks for Liking and Sharing.
