Why Teach Our Children the Wrong Lesson?

Why Do We Teach Our Children the Wrong Lesson? And one might respond, how do we teach our children the wrong lesson?

Before you tune out let me explain.

How many times a day we speak to our children where the first word out of our mouth is DON'T? And, how often do we say don't as opposed to DO?

How many times have we heard a parent say to a child, "Don't you know better?" In many cases the child has not been told or told with sufficient understanding and agreement.

We tend to focus on what we don't want them to do rather than what we want them to do.

Not only should we do the above but choose an occasion when learning is possible; not only  at the time when we are correcting or engaging in some form of discipline.

Try for example using three "DO'S" for every one "DON'T". When we teach the right lesson: what we want them to know, What we want them to, and what we want them to become, we are on the road to seeing a confident child where the confidence comes from a right relationship with parents and a positive training model.

Scripture teaches we are train a child in the way the child should go and the child will not depart from it. As a parent of three I know this to be true and God has Blessed me with three remarkable children.

Given what I see on social media, I hope this might encourage parents who are at this time, raising their children.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. If you would comment, like and share, I would be most appreciative.
