Is Your Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Is your glass half full or half empty

It is said that the pessimst sees the glass half empty while the optimist sees the glass half full. The intriguing question is this: What causes a person to be one or the other?

I think it is safe to say that most entreprenuers and particularly internet marketers are optimists. Then, lets explore the question of what causes one to pessimistic or optimistic.

Some social scientist believe that pessimism is an attempt to protect ourselves from ourselves. Pessimists assume this attitude to provide a defense for themselves in the event of failure. They could then say to themselves, for example, "I knew it wouldn't work" and thus spare themselves the guilt of failure. It's their way of shielding themselves from this perceived failure. Therefore, they tend to live bubble-wrapped lives, feeling safe but not having the courage to venture into the unknown.

But on the other hand, the optimistsself-trust, self-confidence,work from home, stay at home moms, extra income, part time has no need to brace for perceived failure or weakness because they are inherently convinced that whatever life throws at them they can handle. They have the habit of self-trust and self-confidence. Optimism is the willingness to believe in yourself and your life. Pessimism seems to have a braking effect upon our motivation and confidence where on the other hand, optimism accelerates it.

Who would vote "yes" that most IBO'ers are OPTIMISTS?
