LISTEN TO OTHERS, THEY MAY KNOW MORE THAN WE OR AT LEAST, MORE ABOUT OURSELVES THAN WE DO

LISTEN TO OTHERS, THEY MAY KNOW MORE THAN WE OR AT LEAST, MORE ABOUT OURSELVES THAN WE DO.

"Know thyself, and you shall know the universe and God."--Pythagorus

"The heart of man is deceitful above all things, and who can know it?"--Jeremiah 17:9

Given the above it seems problematic that we can know who we are.
Researchers tell us our perception of who we are is shaped by many variables.

The sense of self begins with our upbringing and continues with our education. It is transformed by our various life experiences. Key to those experiences is the impact others have in our lives. Even so, that impact is limited because of how we see ourselves.

For example we don't always believe what we see about ourselves:
If we watched a video of us we might fail to see what others see having watched the same video. We are often plagued with blind spots caused by trying too hard or not being realistic.

Yet, others get to know us by things we are not always conscious of: how we makes decisions, our close friends, our recreation choices and even our social media posts.

Given that we are continually being transformed, is it possible to know who we really are? THE ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING YES!

There is one who knows precisely who we are and why we are here. He is our Creator who made us in the image and likeness of Himself. We come to see this Reality when we receive His Son and endeavor to live by the wisdom of His Word.

The confirmation of knowing and being who we really are is to experience His Peace and Joy.
