WHY ARE WE NOT SATISFIED WITH GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS?

WHY ARE WE NOT SATISFIED WHEN WE ACHIEVE GREAT GOALS?

Someone once asked Rockefeller how much money would it take for him to have enough? His answer; "Just a little more". Someone aims to purchase their dream house. They save and finally buys it. Only to find in a few years later they want a better house. One buys a new car and in less than a year that person is shopping for the next years model which may look very similar to the older one.

Not withstanding are things we naturally put behind us as we go through the various stages of life as we mature; but the accomplishments referred to here are those that we might call our "end all" goals. Why?

THE BIBLE GIVE THE CLUE

The Bible teaches that we are created in the image and likeness of God
?
?
?
and He has put eternity in our hearts. In todays vernacular, we have the DNA of the
Creator. As a result, we naturally aspire to excellence. We unconsciously seek to do good  things. However, when we examine the word "eternity" we find something different in play. Webster defines eternity as life without end but from a Biblical
perspective, eternity is life without end as well as a quality of life. A quality that is of the Creator, as the Creator is eternal.

THE POINT: To the extent one knows God and have a personal relationship with Him, one has the capacity to be satisfied or contented. Without this relationship, one
attemps to fill this God shaped vacuum with more. More money, more fame, more
house, more cars, more, more, more... Only our Creator can fully satisfy.
