Making Your Site Social With Plugins

Let’s get SOCIAL!

In this phase of the training, we are going to be getting more into the “social” aspects of our website and we are going to be working on many different “engagement” points that will further increase the sharability of our websites and explore new traffic angles.

There are several different ways you can scale traffic on your website, and leveraging not just social networks, but being more social within your content is going to help you accomplish this.

In this phase of the bootcamp we are going to be making our website “socially” ready and we are going to be continue to build our website out in a way that is going to lead to continued growth and success.

So let’s get right into things! I have created a video walk-through for today's lesson and you can watch that here...

WATCH VIDEOAdding Sociable to Your Website - Making Your Website Social

Task 1: Adding a Social Plugin

The first thing we are going to do today is to make our website shareable for all of our website visitors. Our first goal is to write engaging, interesting and helpful content. If we can accomplish this, a good deal of our website visitors will want to share the content via their social networks.

There are many plugins that you can install that make sharing easy and the one I am going to recommend today is “sociable”. It is very easy to implement and it tends to work with most website themes.

To find this plugin, go to the Plugins tab within the WP-admin area and search for "sociable". It will be the first plugin that shows up.

You will then simply want to Install and then Activate the plugin. Once you have activated Sociable, you can edit the settings of the appearance of Sociable via the Sociable Options (as shown below).

Task 2: Set-up Your Social Accounts

If you don’t already have accounts with the following social networks, it will be a good idea to set them up.

These are going to be part of your daily activities going forward so you should have these accounts if you don’t have them already (they are all free to join).

**Note: You can also create new accounts within these networks if you want to keep this separate from your existing personal profiles. Do know that if you have no reach, then it will be of no benefit (if you have no friends) to share on social networks so you may want to consider that as well.

Task 3: Share Your Website Within Your Social Profiles

Your next task is going to be to share at least ONE page or post with all of your social profiles. I do recommend that if you haven’t already done so, you share your Wealthy Affiliate review post/page within your social profiles.

Simply visit the page and then click the share buttons to share to the respective social network.
