Professional Email Marketing Advice That's Proven To Work

Many people will automatically think "spam" when they hear about an email marketing campaign, and they will be turned off by the idea. It's your decision to make an email marketing message that is attractive to your customers. Read on to find methods you can begin using now.

To get people to opt-in and give permission for you to send email marketing messages to them, offer an incentive. Offer a discount or a coupon on one of your products or services. Include a whitepaper or newsletter about your niche or market. Give your prospect something in return for access to their inbox.

If you plan to use emails as a marketing tool, you must first gain permission from each customer you would like to include in your campaign. If you email people without permission, they will accuse you of spamming and badmouth your business.

The easier it is to subscribe to your email newsletter, the more subscribers you will have. If you have a physical store, ask your customers for their email address when they make a purchase. If you sell on a website, ask them for their address when they are ready to check out.

Data mine your email list and bucket your audience into various segments based off of any profiling data you have. This will allow you to be more strategic with your messaging and effectively increase your chances of higher open and click through rates. Even if you don't have profiling, look to geo-targeting. Various regions respond differently to different types of messaging.

If you want your email marketing messages to flow out across the Internet to people's inboxes, consider where you are sending them from. Sent frequently from known and stable IP addresses is best. Sudden surges from new IP locations can raise suspicions and even result in blocks and blacklists from ISP's.

Consider using text emails instead of graphically intense HTML emails for your campaign. You may be thinking that the graphics will engage your reader more, but it's usually not the case. Many people today have trained themselves to delete emails with lots of imagery, assuming they are spam. As well, those images often trigger spam filters, meaning your message is never received by some people on your email list!

Consider the point of view of your audience as you plan your marketing campaign. What do you think they'd like to see? What would they desire reading? Then, convert these interests into sales opportunities! The tips from this article will help you get started.
