Journaling Scrapbooking and Genealogy – What Do They Have in Common?

Are there any of you that love to go to thrift stores and see what treasures you can find?  A thrift store is where the term, "One man's junk is another man's treasures" or woman in this case. :)

A friend and I go thrift store shopping at least once per week.  Yesterday was our once per week shopping day and we visited so many thrift stores, I'm actually needing to recover today.

My weakness today could also be coming down from such an exciting find that I came across.

I assume someone either decided to stop being a Creative Memories Consultant or maybe there was a death but whatever the reason, it became a jackpot haul for me.

Scrapbooking haul

There was no way I was leaving without taking this stuff home with me.

Scrapbooking haul

I'm not one for "wheeling and dealing" about anything but if I had decided to take everything off those shelves and paid sticker price for them, we'd probably still be there today.

Scrapbooking haul

At the urging of my friend, I made them an offer for everything, not really thinking they would accept but I could either get a "yes or a no" to my offer.

They took the offer and proceeded to help us pack up the goods and get them out to the car. As tired as I was when I got home, I had to get my calculator out and see if I'd made a lucrative deal for myself and I'm happy to say, "I made a great deal for myself."

I probably could have gotten everything for a little bit cheaper price but I feel good about it. Whatever extra I paid goes to charity, so I got a good deal and so did the Kiwanis of Cape Coral, Florida.

I have lots of ideas running around in my head on what to do with everything I brought home but for now, I'm enjoying everything I have surrounding me.

I go into a bit more depth on by blog of what my ideas are for this jackpot I found.

I'd appreciate if you would visit my blog and give me your ideas and share.

Thank you,
