A powerful message by Marive Gaye.

Followed by a few words by me/

                 "What's Going On"

Mother, mother

There's too many of you crying

Brother, brother, brother

There's far too many of you dying

You know we've got to find a way

To bring some lovin' here today -

Ya Father, father

We don't need to escalate

You see, war is not the answer

For only love can conquer hate

You know we've got to find a way

To bring some lovin' here today

Picket lines and picket signs

Don't punish me with brutality

Talk to me, so you can see

Oh, what's going on

Mother, mother, everybody thinks we're wrong

Oh, but who are they to judge us

Simply because our hair is long

Oh, you know we've got to find a way To bring some understanding here today

Oh Picket lines and picket signs

Don't punish me with brutality

Talk to me

So you can see What's going on

On May 21, 1971 Marvin Gaye released these powerful lyrics to the world.

I was about to turn 3 at that time and really never knew this song as it played on the radio.

I never knew what was going on out there and nor did I care because I was little. I was taken care of by my parents. Parents that saw what was going on in the world after they chose to bring us here.

I am sure it was hard for them to watch what was goin on around them and wonder what kind of world will we grow up in.

Then it was our turn. Our turn to remember these powerful lyrics.

Our turn to keep our children shielded from the problems of the world

We can't hide it from them anymore.

September 11th 2001, when our children saw the news playing, the first day of the end of their world, play over and over again on TV.

They remembered.

No matter what their age.

They remembered.

They no longer feel safe. They know that we can no longer keep them safe. Although we try.

You go anywhere these days you never know if you will be going home together or at all.

We need to come together and end this once and for all.

End the hate.

End the punishment.

End the protests.

End the war.

Focus on us all being safe again.

Focus on love.

Focus on Faith.

Thank God for what he has given us.

The opportunity to spread love, not hate. Reach out to someone everyday and say I appreciate you sharing this world with me.

There is plenty of room for all of us and if we all love not hate. We can achieve greatness together.

To whom ever reads this. I appreciate you, I Love You  and I appreciate you sharing your world with me.

Love Your Friend Dawn
