It Looks Like Armageddon!

It looks like Armageddon around here. The Hurricane is almost here and everyone preparing for it has just about gone crazy. Hurricane Sandy is about to slam into the east coast and is making a direct hit right into New Jersey. This is a very dangerous storm being compared to something that hasn't happened since 1954. There were reports from friends at grocery stores that people were stealing bread from other peoples carts when they weren't looking. One guy had 22 cases of water and wiped out the water. You can't get bread or water anywhere. Batteries and generators are sold out everywhere. Gas stations are lined up with cars. I got to go out for a little while today and I saw places around here in a small country town so jammed packed. My ATM machine would not give me money. I had to drive to 2 different machines before I could get any cash. It is important to have cash because if and when the power goes out you will not be using your debit card. We got to sit in the longest gas line I have ever sat in. The station is almost out of gas. We filled up our tank and got 10 gallons of gas for our generator. There are so many cars on the road and our local Acme, which is always empty, has every parking spot full and every register open. We have been walking around our yard for days making sure the yard is safe from flying objects that can do us or anyone else harm. We also had to take care of our silky chickens and make sure there coops was safe up against the house. All schools are closed for Monday and Tuesday at least and all the Governors in states from North Carolina to New York are calling State of Emergencies. Our Governor in New Jersey has been evacuating everyone in the shore lines and the barrier islands. Our Govenor is known for making strange announcements and he said today "Don't be stupid get off the Barrier Islands. Last year he announced during Hurricane Irene to "Get the hell off the beach". All the highways that have tolls are waiving those tolls for the evacuation and our roads look like armageddon is here. Bumper to bumper all the way from the shore. The bad thing is there really isn't anywhere to go. This storm is going all the up to New York. This is the worst strom to come here in my lifetime and the ones I have already lived though have been really bad. Anyone being affected by this please be safe. This is going to be around for 3 days. 14 hours of straight winds of 58 to 80 mph. It is going to drop over a foot of rain. In our towns 1 to 2 inches of rain is sometime devastating. We are all very nervous and hopeful that we will keep our power. Also are praying that the trees all around our home stay right there where they are. The National Guard is also coming in and they are closing different bridges and tunnels and all public transportation is shut down or has a deadline to shut down before the worst gets here. The President was making a statement earlier on TV before he was off to Florida for his campaign there tomorrow. I believed him to say it like this. Telling everyone to listen to all the rules from state and local authorities and be safe. Now I'm off to Florida. Good Luck. LOL. I think he should hang out in his town with his residents and suffer like all of us. Stay safe and anyone not in this situation prayers are very powerful. Please pray for us.
