July 21st 1996 The Day We Got Married

On July 21st 1996 the day we got Married. It was at Old Cedar Campground in Monroeville New Jersey.

It was a Sunday and happened to be the only nice Sunday of the Summer. We had some big rain storms every weekend and we were all worried about how our day would turn out.

It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day that was no where near as hot as it is today in 2012.

When we first set the date and where it was going to be we got a lot people laughing at the location we picked for our wedding. It was being called a Hill Billy Wedding or a Farmers Picnic.

But it turned out that they all had the best time they ever had at a Wedding. It was dress as you like and everyone and anyone could come.

We had enough food for everyone. It was a buffet of all different kinds of food donated and made by family and friends.

Bottles and bottles of champagne. To give you a picture of how much fun my wedding was, there was not a bottle of champagne left for us to take with us for our honeymoon night.

My Wedding Dress was so beautiful. I went to so many stores to find one and then I finally put on the dress that I knew had to be mine. The best thing about my dress is that it only cost $99.00. Alterations were $40.00 and my veil was attached to a beautiful white hat that was tagged great for Halloween but it was a great edition to my Wedding Dress to me.

It was a Cinderella Dress. It was from a wedding that had been canceled. Lucky for me.

I was an hour late for my own wedding because the photographer went nuts taking pictures. Our DJ was a very patient man and stayed for the entire wedding even though it started late. He played music that was relevant to the people that were there. Something for everyone to have fun.

The photographer took pictures through the entire Wedding and reception. The best picture he took was of my and my new husband filled with cake.

My husband smashed the cake all over me so I did the same to him. I was covered in wedding cake. It took about a half hour to clean me up.

Our song we danced to was by Phil Collins "A Groovy Kind of Love". I danced with my dad to "One Moment In Time". He danced with his mom to "Through The Eyes of Love".

We had the Electric Slide and a few more different line dance that I had never seen before.

At the end of the reception me and my sister were doing the Alley Cat together. It started with a nice group and got done to just the two of us.

We have been married for 16 years today. Our Honeymoon was in Walt Disney World. We did lots of fun things for our Anniversaries. One included being struck by lighting in Cedar Point Park right on Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio.

Today we are celebrating our Anniversary doing something a little different. We were supposed to go to Atlantic City for the day. We haven't been out together for the past 4 years and this year we had the chance because we had someone willing to sit with our autistic son.

But something canceled our plans. Someone emptied out our bank account. So maybe we will go somewhere next year.

We got 16 Guinea Hens today for our Anniversary. You may have never heard of them. They are noisy hens that eat ticks. We are raising them from 3 weeks old. They are so cute when they are little. They will grow up and patrol the grounds and eat the ticks. Which is very needed around here right now.

The tick population has grown because of nice winter we had here. Not enough cold to kill them.

Also I did not miss the IBO Webinar and talked to a few friends from IBO that wished me and my husband a Happy Anniversary.

I am proud to have a 16 year marriage so far. It is my only one. My husband was married once before and his wife cheated on him and they got divorced.

I helped him through his hard time and we fell in love. I am grateful that he trusted me enough to marry me. He had stated several times that he would not marry again. The pain was to hard for him handle and he never wanted it to happen again to him.

We are each others best friends and we can do anything together. I watch sports with him and I also play XBOX. When we met we were playing the Nintendo 64. Of course we have some fights now and then but most of them when you look back at them should have never started. Lot of stress from bills and family make things tough on a marriage. I believe we are soul mates and can get through anything together. We have already made it through the worse.

July 21st 1996 the day we got married First Dance 7 minutes into the video.
