Just Stand Up And Complain

Just Stand Up And Complain. That's a really funny saying and I get to say it a lot. My son Parker, my 11 year old autistic boy just can't get enough of that song. It's "The Grouch Anthem" from Sesame Street. So I know this song word for word and he gets a kick out of me singing it to him. I do feel silly but the things you will do for your kids. Many days I find myself Standing Up to Complain. Today for instance was one of them. I was working hard at home today trying to get my basement ready for the tax man to come and value the property. Of course to raise the taxes which are high enough already. There's a complaint. I went to get some important things for my kids for their summer programs this evening when the busy day winded down. I never even looked at my computer today. Which is really rare for me. But I knew that if I got on it without finishing my tasks for the day then well they would still be there for me later and they needed to be done like yesterday. What happened when I went to the register was quite embarrassing. She rang up all my items and told me the total. I swiped my debit card and put in the code and she said to me render another form of payment please. I said excuse me. What did you just say. She told me again. Then she said try it with credit this time. Taking forever now I hear once again. Render another form of payment. I got the sickest feeling in my gut. Of course today I didn't carry any cash. I stepped aside to call my bank and when it asked me for my debit card number I put it in and it said to me that I had an invalid card. I tried it again and again thinking I had to have typed in the wrong numbers cause I was tired. Even the cashier read the numbers to me once. Finally I talked to a customer care representative and she connected me to a person who sounded like they were part of the FBI. Asking me all kinds of information in a really quick manner. Then she explained to me that I was speaking to the compromise department. Here I am standing in the middle of the store talking to the bank and having the feeling of puking. She said I have a few questions for you about your activity. She started to name all these things that were charged and only 3 things were mine for the total of 36.00. The rest totaled over 1000 and that was everything in my bank account. I was horrified and felt so sick at what I was hearing. Lucky I didn't need an ambulance. I was hearing charge after charge for 20 transactions of ITunes and a mobile phone company in UK. Then everything came in as UK UK UK. I was like WTH is going on here. Why didn't anyone stop it. Well they said we tried to call you but you didn't answer. We left you a message guess you didn't get it. Well they have the wrong number on file. When I moved I gave them all the new information and for some reason it didn't get entered correctly. Now I was mad because i took the time to drive to the bank and give them the info they required for me to switch my address and someone there didn't do there job right. I happens a lot these days. My mother and father paid off their mortgage and years later when they applied for credit, they have a loan for the house still open. Does anyone do their jobs anymore. Most of them are just interested in collecting that check. 9-5 8-4 whatever it is I am here I am done. Who cares what work was done right. So now I get to go to the bank tomorrow and fill out all this paper work so I can get my money back. Why should I have to go through all that. I was the victim and they are the ones that I trusted with my money. So why do I have to go through all the red tape and waiting for days to get something back that was mine in the first place. How do these people get your information when everyone swears they have secure servers when you use your debit card. Also why do they pick on me. I don't have much. If someone wanted to steal an identity it definitely should not be mine. My credit score is one of the lowest out there. LOL. But that's OK I pay cash. Just Stand UP and Complain is all I can do. Thanks for taking time to read all about my complaint for the day. This could be the start of a good book.
